Perfect isn't always worship

There is one song that sticks out to me from Sunday mornings worship.  It was not a new one.  It has been sung and played before.  For some reason, it just wasn't gelling.  The guitar was off.  The drums were behind.  One of the singers started to early.  They actually stopped it and started again.  Some might have been perturbed about the interruption in their worship.  Some might have been amused that there was a mistake.  Some might have been embarrassed for the worship leaders.  At first, I was a little of all those things above.  However, a thought slowly dawned on me.  Worship isn't about perfect music.  Yes in our head we all know this, but do we know it in our hearts.  Do we know worship isn't always about perfect timing, perfect songs, perfect words, etc.  We shouldn't be striving for perfection in our worship.  We are not perfect beings. Therefore if we bring ourselves to worship, then things will not be perfect.  And that is okay!

Do you bring your imperfect self to worship on Sunday mornings?  Do worship even though things aren't perfect?  You should because God wants you just like you are.  He doesn't want a perfect version of you.  His job is perfect.  Yours is just to be there.
